Have you ever wondered what is the difference between a leak detection and a pool inspection? At first glance, most people would assume these terms can be used interchangeably. But in reality, these are two different services (among others) provided by our company.
Within this blog post, we’ll be answering the following question: When to get a leak detection vs. When to get a pool inspection?
When to get a leak detection?
A leak detection is recommended when one notices his/her pool is losing an abnormal amount of water (water loss > 1/4 of an inch daily), and one wishes to determine the source of the leak in order to prevent further (and often more serious) damage to the pool itself or the pool equipment.
When to get a Pool Inspection?
A pool inspection is done when an individual is purchasing a home and wants to make sure the pool is in working properly and is up to code. The pool inspection allows the buyer to know if there are any red flags related to pool functioning and maintenance (cracks, non-functioning pool equipment, etc.) prior to closing on a home.
This would give the buyer a chance to negotiate house pricing and/or potential repair costs with the seller of the home.
A pool inspection performed by Certified Pool Leak Inspections consists of a list of nearly 50 items inspected. Including (but not limited to): The pool shell, pool deck, pool equipment, etc.
Each item on the list is carefully inspected to determine its condition. Visual documentation of these items is provided to the client, once it is embedded in a pool inspection report (which is sent to the client 24 hours after the pool inspection is complete.)
Knowing the distinct difference between these services is imperative when searching for a pool servicing company and determining your pool servicing needs!
