In the age of information and ever-advancing technology, many “things” compete for our time and attention. Particularly, social media applications on our phones. The fact of the matter is, many of us (if not all of us) have been guilty of spending an unhealthy amount of time scrolling through our apps as we go about our daily activities. This is especially troubling when we take into consideration the amount of time we waste mindlessly scrolling through our phones during breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Times when we should be talking to one another, strengthening family ties, or even getting to know new people. Simply put, we have never been so connected in the virtual world, yet so distant from one another in the real world. Thankfully, that does not have to be the norm…
Strengthening Family Ties With a Poll
Having a pool in your backyard, is a great way to spend quality time with family members and strengthen family ties, without the distractions that so often compete for our time. It goes without saying, that time is a precious commodity. In fact, time is among the few things in life we can never get back or make up for. (No matter how much we may wish to do so). Therefore, time should be spent wisely; preferably doing things that improve the quality of our lives and brings us joy.
What better way to do so, than to listen to the sound of children laughing as they play in the water? What better way to decompress from the stresses of daily life than to go for a swim after a long day at work? I, for one, cannot think of a more convenient way to relieve stress, strengthen family bonds, and keep the kids entertained than having a pool in the backyard. It is no secret, that pool parties are not only a fun way to spend the summer months, but are also highly cost-effective when compared to general traveling expenses.
What is more, swimming is not only refreshing when attempting to beat the scorching South Florida heat, but is also a great form of exercise for people of all ages. In fact, swimming can provide a full body work-out without placing excessive strain on one’s joints. This is especially beneficial for individuals living with chronic pain, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and those living with limited mobility. After all, aqua therapy or hydrotherapy is a great way to relief muscle tension, while providing a safe and enjoyable form of exercise. (If you’re looking for motivation to lead a more physically active lifestyle, this is it!)
